Finland International School (FIS) Pune - Goenka Global Education

A visual language that portrays
a uniquely engaging learning environment

Scope: Brand Positioning, Visual & Verbal Language, Tagline, Imagery Creation - Still & Film

Brief: Finland International School believes that education is not just about academic excellence, but also about nurturing complete individuals. FIS uses the internationally acclaimed Finnish science of ‘the way you teach’ and ‘how children learn,’ with learning being holistic and versatile - from learning transversal skills, cross-curricular themes, to phenomena-based learning across math, science, languages, sports, swimming, art, music, woodwork. The ethos of the ‘joy of learning,’ means that every child experiences continuous positive learning in an engaging, and stress-free environment. The imagery had to portray children in the natural school environment, with no changes being made to their daily planned schedule on the shoot days, and no special arrangements made for the shoot.

Concept: The imagery, both still and video was shot in true documentary style, very real and raw. The idea was to capture images of children immersed in the real-life experiential learning process. And capture the feeling of joy, a child’s sense of innocent curiosity, as well as keen focus, in FIS’s uniquely engaging learning environment. The shoot was done with the school students (preschool to grade 4) and no models were used. A strategic decision was taken not to shoot any school space without children, as the focus was not on the infrastructure or the facilities, but how differently learning happens at FIS.
