Brief: To create a book cover for the fiction novel ‘We Need A Revolution’ based on a true social issue in the Andaman islands. The cover design had to capture the essence of the book without giving away any aspect of the plot and garnering reader curiosity.

Concept: The descriptive style of writing, a plot with a social issue and a revolution at its core, brings out characters and elements that are key to the story. The starkness of the ‘screenplay’ is portrayed through black ink illustrations against a deep yellow background. The colour palette also symbolises the light at the end of the tunnel. The key elements are illustrated with the protagonist at the head, to suggest that he leads the revolution. The illustration of the protagonist was a result of a well thought through character development process. The typography rendered in a graffiti style is symbolic of rebellion.
